This is a 12ft 5 weight ferrule model solid double-handed bamboo rod.

In recent years, in steelhead fishing in the United States and Canada, lengths of 12ft or less are becoming common for double-handed bamboo rods. Especially for summer run fishing, there are many 5 or 6 weight rods under 12ft.

This rod was designed and created to be used for quiet fishing in the main stream or lake.

Of course, if you have casting skills, you can cast farther.

The line specification is 5 weight, but 6 weight can also be used depending on the line. In the case of 6 weight, you can use up to 20 grams (310 grains) of head including silk line. Do not use more than that. Do not use it for Skagit cast.

The ferrule uses Classic Sports Super Z ferrule. (Butt section only) This alone costs a little over 10,000 yen. The blank is frame finished.

The stripping guides are agate guides, and the others are gold single foot. There are 3 pieces and 2 tips, so please use them alternately.

The hook keeper is a gold hook keeper. Silk is used for the wrapping thread.

In this model, the use of burl cork is kept to a minimum as an accent, and the main cork is made of the highest grade Flor from Portugal to reduce weight. The reel seat is a down-lock cork compatible with long foot reels. The fighting butt is also made of cork to reduce weight.

The action is a slow action with a traditional spey action. This action is called noodle action overseas. This rod has a slow action, so it is not suitable for those who want to cast at a fast line speed. It has an action that is very good for hooking when fishing with wet fish. For dry flies, a 5 weight single hand spey line is suitable.

For underhand fishing, SA OH&D SWT: Switch 6 weight (20g) or less is a good match. It can also be used overhead.

Regarding inserting and removing ferrules, insert and remove them straight without twisting them.
